Smoking Cessation

  Stop Smoking… Help Available!

DMC is a smoke free campus.  In Michigan, smoking is banned at all worksites, bars and restaurants with the exception of gaming floors of the three Detroit casinos and existing cigar bars and tobacco specialty stores.

See your Primary Care Physician (PCP) to discuss your plan to stop smoking. Your PCP may consider the use of medications to help you with your non-smoking efforts. If you do not have a primary physician go to www.dmc-care.org/physicians to find a doctor.

Medications used for smoking cessation are covered by DMC Care under your pharmacy benefit. Check with your PCP to determine what medicaiion is best for you.

Using a DMC Pharmacy or the DMC Pharmacy Mail Service will always save you money!

Online smoking cessation programs are also available – like the Freedom from Smoking website that is offered by the American Lung Association, along with others.
